Our Story
In 2016, an idea began to grow: making science accessible to everyone.
The Snail’s Apothecary was born from Karène’s passion, a naturalist with a background in Biology, specializing in malacology and more specifically in Achatinidae. The main mission was to make knowledge about little-known animals accessible: Giant African Land Snails.
This blog was created to answer the most frequently asked questions and to promote the well-being of Giant African Land Snails (GALS).
Over time, our blog has become a leading French-language reference on Achatinidae, featuring well-sourced care guides, husbandry sheets, and a terrarium calculator. Because an animal that is well understood is an animal that is well cared for!
The Shop
Today, The Snail’s Apothecary represents a passion for service rooted in science, combined with traditional herbal knowledge and expert craftsmanship for our terrarium companions. From packaging to content, everything is handmade in our beautiful Normandy region, in the heart of the Perche forests. Some products are made to order to ensure optimal freshness. Ingredients are organic whenever possible and 100% natural: no artificial colors or flavors are added.
